Summary

The Account Executive at Xpan is responsible for building and growing long-term relationships across our global client base. This role focuses on landing new accounts and expanding those relationships over time across our learning services and technology offerings.

You will work closely with a broad group of Xpaners and act as the internal voice of the customer. This is a strategically important role that regularly involves collaboration with senior leadership to shape solutions, develop proposals, and present value propositions. As an experienced sales professional, you bring judgment, structure, and creativity to how we grow. You are comfortable navigating complexity, building trust, and supporting clients as they make decisions in evolving learning environments.

This role is fully remote. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents for employment purposes.

What you will do


Build new client relationships

You actively develop new relationships within large organizations and create momentum where connections do not yet exist. This includes leveraging your existing network, thoughtful outbound outreach, and consistent presence in industry and client ecosystems. You understand that credibility is built over time and that strong business development is grounded in trust.

Grow and deepen existing accounts

You stay close to your clients and become part of their internal conversations about learning and development. Through regular check-ins, account reviews, participation in project meetings, and informal touch points, you develop a strong understanding of how your clients operate and how decisions are made. Clients see you as a trusted partner, not a vendor.


Lead complex deal work

Xpan’s work often involves multiple stakeholders, evolving requirements, and close collaboration across internal teams. You guide opportunities from early conversation through proposal and close, ensuring client needs are clearly represented while balancing scope, timelines, and commercial considerations. You bring people along early and create alignment before work begins.

Continue learning and development

We design learning for our clients and take learning seriously internally. You invest in your own development, stay informed about industry trends, and bring new thinking back to the team.

Stay connected internally

You build strong internal relationships, communicate clearly in a remote environment, and keep systems and records up to date. You understand that successful client work at Xpan depends on collaboration across business development, delivery, and leadership.

Required superpowers

  • Experience in consultative B2B sales, ideally within professional services or complex solution environments
  • Ability to open new accounts and grow them over time
  • Comfort operating when client needs and solutions are not fully defined
  • Strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Understanding of commercial fundamentals including pricing, margins, and scope
  • Self-directed, disciplined, and effective in a remote setting
  • Collaborative approach that brings others along rather than working in isolation

Experience selling learning solutions, eLearning, SaaS, or technology-enabled services is an advantage, but curiosity, adaptability, and integrity matter just as much.
